Alex was a very talented selfless person who always gave of himself, especially to those who were less fortunate than himself. When I first arrived in New York in 1962, I was at a party where I was approached by an American student who remarked that he heard that I was from Africa. During our conversation he asked me whether we had any fast food in Africa. I then replied!.......... In Africa you had to be fast.........otherwise you become food!
